ACFE Knoxville Presents our Annual Spring Seminar

Dennis F. Dycus, CPA, CFE, CGFM Presents:

"Performing Investigations for Internal Fraud"

As reported in the ACFE’s 2018 Report To The Nations Study on Global Occupational Fraud and Abuse, 97% of all frauds that occur in organizations are committed internally with a median loss of $130,000.  When conducting investigations of internal frauds, if you don’t know what you’re doing, the findings or resulting report may be worthless.  As a rule, one has a legal right to conduct an investigation related to internal fraud.  However, if one specific factor is missing, you may find yourself exposed to significant legal liabilities.

This presentation is designed as an overview of when to conduct an internal fraud investigation, the dos and don’ts in conducting such investigations and then how to report the results.  Conducting an internal investigation is similar to navigating a mine field.  This presentation will provide you with a path through the mine field in order to assure a successful investigation.
